Have you grabbed a copy of Waves Mag yet? If not, here’s a sneak peak of the poster featuring Goddess Ashley Cheadle. We feel this is enough of an incentive to go out and buy one, right? Photo: Jason Ierace
MAMBO GOES TO THE MOVIES
The DUNGOG FILM FESTIVAL is the world’s biggest celebration of Australian film. MAMBO is the world’s biggest supporter of anything Australian made – especially when it comes with a box of popcorn and a padded seat so that we can sit in a darkened room for 2 hours, doing next to bugger all. To improve our chances of scoring one of the better seats, MAMBO is this year SPONSORING the Dungog Film Festival. This will be the forth occasion that Mambo has partnered the Festival since it was launched in 2007.
The DFF takes place, June 29 – July 1. It kicks off with, Not Suitable For Children, a film starring former Mambo neighbour and current US ‘Mambassador’, Ryan Kwanten (True Blood, Red Hill). And in case you have an all too rational fear of partying so hard between screenings that you’ll forget having actually attended the festival, Mambo artist, Lee Connell has designed the official DFF poster plus t-shirt to remind you.
The Dungog Film Festival is something wholly unique to this country – a festival that celebrates Australian films exclusively in a non-competitive environment. It showcases new Australian screen content, honours leading Australian filmmakers, and creates a context for contemporary Australian film. If you’re planning to attend just one cinematic festival this year make sure it’s the DUNGOG FILM FESTIVAL – and not the Didor Internation Film Festival (Tajikistan) for instance, which doesn’t have any Australian content.
